It is our belief that those with skills should give back to the communities in which they live and work. District Council 16 Apprenticeship Program apprentices donate their skills and craftsmanship to needy organizations. In fact, both the apprentices and the recipients benefit from these services. Apprentices further hone their skills while the beneficiaries are provided expert craftsmanship. Here are a few of our proud community service projects... ![]() Crisis Center — San Jose, CA The Apprentices installed flooring throughout the administrative areas. The flooring materials used included sheet vinyl, carpet tiles, engineered hardwood and other assorted carpet. ![]() Police Athletic League — San Francisco, CA The Glazing Apprentices removed old windows and installed new windows in the press box of the Police Athletic Club. The Drywall Finishing Apprentices did the patchwork after new windows were installed. ![]() Local Union 507 of Painters and Allied Trades — San Jose, CA The Painting Apprentices pressure washed, patched, full primed and applied multiple colors of finish coat. This was a great project for them as they were able to rig a swing stage for use as well as boom lifts. |
