Your Career as a
Drywall Finisher
Apprentices will be taught all the necessary work skills to prepare walls and ceilings for different finishes and create a ready surface for Painters to apply any of their coatings. Work is performed on all types of new and old buildings.
In addition to the general requirements, all applicants for the Drywall Finisher apprenticeship program will be required to pass a basic math test.
Apprentices will receive training in the following areas, but not limited to:
- CPR/First Aid
- OSHA Health & Safety
- Fall Protection
- Blueprint Reading
- Labor History
- Proper and Safe Use of Power Tools
- Proper and Safe Use of Hand Tools
- Taping
- Topping and Texturing
- Spray Texture
- Hand Texture
- Product Knowledge
- Venetian Plastering
- Jobsite Safety
Wages
Beginning apprentices receive a percentage of journeyman wage including full health coverage and other limited fringe benefits that increase with each progressive step in the Program. Apprentice wages increase every six months as they complete a combination of on-the-job training hours along with passing credit for classroom and hands-on training at our training facilities until they become a journeyman at the end of the program. Other Requirements
Apprentices must possess sufficient educational knowledge to satisfactorily complete on-the-job training and related technical instruction. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is recommended. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. There is no maximum age limit. More Information Here.
